Humanity and Self Eradication

With the recent uproar over the clumsy words of Todd Akin it got me thinking about survival of humanity as a whole. While the focus is on the words "Legitimate Rape" it really should be on whether or not the abortion of a product of rape is justifiable. Currently society in America is not as Pro-Abortion as the media portrays (in fact there appears to be a majority against it) but neither are they against abortion in all cases. The general acceptance is abortion is justified in the cases of rape, incest, and to save a mother's life. Arguments against Abortion in all other cases is fairly easy to make regardless of your political views. Each human has a DNA structure made up of 46 chromosomes. Twenty-three of which are from the Paternal Unit and the other half from the Maternal Unit. These chromosomes make up a completely new and wholly unique DNA structure. At the moment of conception the genesis of a human life begins. This isn't an arguable point. It is a biological fact. Despite the incredibly small size of a single cell it is human life and is alive. If a single celled organism were to be found by the Mars Rover, Curiosity, the scientific world would hail they had found life. Yet somehow a growing human in a uterus is called, by pro-abortionists, a blob of cells. Two distinct beliefs held simultaneously by one side creating a paradox of perceived reality. A single non-growing cell could not be called life while a plethora of cells engaged in meiosis is being denied for what it is. Humanity is a very fragile state of existence and could be eradicated by any number of terrestrial or stellar calamity. The expansion of the human race into space is required for the survival of our species. At the same time this requires the progeneration of human life. Exploration of space will harbor unknown dangers and will require more people to man and explore the newest frontier. Unfortunately abortion statistics, when examined across the world, indicate that the females of our species are being eradicated in far greater numbers than males. While currently sociologists believe that this will only affect the countries in which this practice is occurring any number of events could shift the larger male population out of their geographical confines and the practice of human eradication would continue outside of those boundaries. To put it bluntly Humankind is killing itself out of vanity and selfishness. Back to the topic of when abortion should be acceptable. On a grander scale if human survival is the goal then no abortion is not acceptable under any condition. On the other hand humans are not unfeeling machines and can see the pain rape and incest causes and can sympathize with the want to live. I don't propose to have the answers to these questions but I know that maternal units are ultimately responsible for the decisions regarding their ability to give life. Life is necessary if we are to survive as a species. It should be urged to give life responsibly specifically if one can support it only then should they have it. But this is not to say that if one is unable to that they should not, more that they should take measures to prevent until they are capable. Procreate responsibly.

Fundamental Atomic Bulgaria

Well here we are still fighting the war against Jihadis and their never ending quest for nuclear armaments.
In Bulgaria they are implementing new security on the borders to help prevent transport of nuclear material.
Not a big deal to some but to others that are aware of the huge Muslim population in Bulgaria and the fact that fundmental Islam is spreading within the nation there. Whole villages have been forced to convert to Islam .

A dirty bomb does not require a nuclear reaction. It simply requires an explosion large enough to distribute nuclear materials across a large area. This is reason enough to be concerned with the migration of nuclear material out of Bulgaria back into the Middle East. Combined with the radical nature of those immigrating there it is just a ticking timebomb.

If You Want It You Must Fight For It

So since I’m a terrorism and technology blog I thought I share some of my feelings about the coming crisis with the Comprehensive Medical Reform Bill aka Obamacare.

So to shed some light on where I’m coming from I’ll tell you more about myself. I am an Army vet I spent a few years in and then got out for personal reasons. I enjoyed my time while I was in and I enjoyed my job. I did Intelligence work; gathering intel and processing it. While I was in I knew a guy, not real well, but I worked with him and I liked him. He like I volunteered to go over to a theater of operation and unlike me he was accepted. This guy wasn’t there for a few weeks and he got hit by a mortar round in the green zone. Shit happens, its war.

What bothered me about the situation is not so much that he got hurt it was the extent of his injuries. You see he lost an eye, most of his right leg and arm. He lost a portion of his left leg and part of his left hand. For a military guy he was pretty much done when it comes to his career. I know there a few that get back up and continue their service but this guy was not going to see that. Now I’m not bothered by his injures because he is maimed and disfigured in fact that hardly bothers me. No, what bothered me is the shear uselessness of our prosthetics.

I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I got out of high school which is why I didn’t go straight to college. I joined the Army so I would be a productive member of society and have time to think about what I wanted to do as well as have money for college when I got out. It was the non-advanced prosthetics our people had available to them and my want to make them better that I went out to school to become and Engineer.

I wanted to do prosthetics so I needed to have some medical background mainly the basics as well as some electrical and mechanical engineering studies. So I went the route of becoming and Biomedical Electrical Engineer. I have a few classes more to finish a degree and then I want to get to work.

I’ve been doing a lot of studying on companies to work for and aside from DARPA groups there are not too many companies that actual work in this field which explains the lack of quality prosthetics out there. So I decided about a year or so ago that I would go to work for a few years in industry then start a research company.

Well In the last year a great deal has happened today we have the financial regulatory overhaul that I have no doubt will screw over young entrepreneurs, but we also have the ever so wonderful Obamacare. The medical field is going to change and the bill already affects research specifically in the field I wish to work in.
The interesting thing is the increase in research money that has been devoted to my field of research. However, the research money that has been allocated is not for research in new technologies. The research money has been set aside for Comparative Effectiveness studies.

Comparative Effectiveness is defined by the AHRQ as “research [that] is designed to inform health-care decisions by providing evidence on the effectiveness, benefits, and harms of different treatment options. The evidence is generated from research studies that compare drugs, medical devices, tests, surgeries, or ways to deliver health care.

In other words it is designed to find the cheapest route but not necessarily the most effective route. This is of course how comparative effectiveness has been used in every country that employs a nationalized health care.

The problem with this is that new technologies are only expected to be developed so long as they can produce a cheaper alternative to what is out there not necessarily a healthier lifestyle for the patient. This is why the healthcare bill hurts the field I wish to go into. The tools employed will be more expensive than a faux arm with a hook attached to a lingering muscle ligament. I have no problem that my field of study is vastly more adaptive to the situation at hand but I want to do what I want to do and the healthcare bill has more than likely killed my dream.
If reality could only match the idealness of this bill. Alas, I have no delusions about the future and grim dreary landscape it holds. I also cannot accept that all is well when history has shown time and time again that Statist Healthcare systems do not care about the well being of the patient only about the bottom line. Research will be stymied as well as it has in all the rest of the countries with Nationalized Healthcare and the prospects of healthcare getting better and cheaper will no longer exist.

I am not resigned to this grim future. I will do everything possible to fight it. It is not about me but about the men and women who have served us and my want to serve them in return. I will not go silently into the night while the my field burns in flames set by the agressors.

Bending the truth or lieing as its known

So I was perusing the interwebs and spending time pretending to be someone I'm not and came across this.

This is actual fabrication of what is going on. The troops are not being turned back they are finding better cover as they are out in the open without any concealment. In the video below you can see.



Now you can see that the troops are as I said out in the open. What to do if you're a soldier in that situation. Well they do what's tactically sound. Due to the distance the enemy is away from them they don't charge the ambush they pop smoke to conceal themselves and their movement. Then the video leaves off with them on the move. I'm betting shortly thereafter an Apache or predator came in but I haven't researched that far yet.

The point of this exercise is to show the lengths the enemy will distort the truth in order to push their propaganda war. Since there is no narrative to what is going on anything the enemy says is happening they could probably get away with. Anyone already in the mindset will continue to use this news footage as propaganda.

Continuance of Online Terrorism

I've been spending more of my free time doing sort what I did while in the Army. Gathering intelligence. I've done what my enemy does and created sleepers within their community to find and collect information and to discern disinformation from that which is credible. What makes this harder than my previous job is that the enemy speaks far more languages and dialects within them than I have learned. However since many followers within this group share this "inadequacy" there are those within the group that translate into other languages that are readily understood by myself and of course their target audience.

Social Networks and video sharing sites contain pools of knowledge that many overlook. Since the enemy we fight are not united under a specific banner outwardly and are not centrally located it makes them harder to pinpoint while walking around in day to day life. Most do not spout their true beliefs outwardly fearing possible backlash from the authorities. On the aforementioned sites the enemy is free to speak openly about their beliefs and hide behind anonymity. The internet provides a great deal of protection for those who do not wish to be known. I don't begrudge it that afterall I would use it too if it were necessary. The internet does not provide iron clad wall for anonymity, especially for the enemy.

Since the enemy chooses to use the internet for its propaganda, and we do not (and should not) live in a police state, it is necessary for private citizens and private groups to intervene. This is where groups like The Jawa Report, The Youtube Smackdown Corps, and others like them come in. The Jawa Report and its cadre have been doing great work in taking down enemies from within as well as engaging in international cases that led to the conviction of a terrorist in another country. The Smackdown Corps has been exceptionally useful in removing propaganda from youtube. They are alerted or find enemy propaganda and through the help of its members (including yours truly) flag and report said videos. Usually ending in the deletion of the video or the user account.

The citzenry are the militia and are the last line of defense in a shooting war. However in a war like this the citizenry are the first line of defense as they are everywhere and can see everything the trick is opening our eyes.

Preparedness

In light of recent events the populace should brace itself for further attacks. It should have been evident before that the attacks of terrorists will continue and will not relent until the defeat of Political Islam. I have three scenarios which I consider likely to occur in the future.
1st the airport scenario.
The airport situation is different than many might suspect. In fact most people believe that the added security makes them safer rather than more vulnerable. It is true that it will be harder for terrorists to take planes over and kill massive amount of people with suicide missiles. The situation is not worsened in that respect. Rather the airport is unsecure. During busy cycles the people in airports are not on the other side of security rather they are in large lines huddled together in masses waiting to be herded through like cattle. This is when the people are most vulnerable.
The Checkpoints are not far from the loading and unloading areas. Though not likely it would be possible to drive a car bomb relatively close to the loading terminal area and set it off. The bomb would kill many around the outside and possible several on the inside depending on the size of the blast and the type of shrapnel added to the explosive.
Though, the more likely part of this scenario would be for the terrorists to wait until the people are at capacity and trying to get through the security checkpoint. At this point the terrorists would receive a signal from a scout within and then a van or larger vehicle containing several armed men would come to the unloading terminus and begin unloading with their weapons firing into the crowd. Because civilians are not trained to attack they will flee into the bottle neck at the checkpoints trying to get away from the shooters . This fight or flight mechanism will exacerbate the situation. The casualties will be small in comparison to 9/11 however the psychological damage of this approach will be devastating. It will demonstrate a complete inability to protect against such an attack. The attack could be a two part plan. Once into the airport the terrorists could continue through the airport killing civilians until they are able to take a plane. Though not very likely the terrorists could then take said plane and have themselves another “missile”. It is not likely the second part will occur as once it is known that the planes are hijacked and not taking orders from ground control policies put in place would more than likely cause it to be shot down from the sky. This is meant to be broad strokes to paint a picture of how they could pull this off.
2nd the biological scenario.
The West I’m afraid has yet to take the word of Baden Powell to heart. “Be prepared”. The old boy scout motto would serve us well in these skirmishes with the terrorists. It has long been known that terrorists have sought weapons of mass destruction. However for some reason people’s fears are on that of a nuclear bomb. Though this may be a frightening prospect for some it is nothing compared to a biological attack.
For years it has been known that small pox has not plagued our societies due to vaccinations. We have eradicated a very deadly disease. However aside from our military we do not give this vaccination to large parts of the populace as it is seen as unnecessary.
Being able to weaponize this particular disease would be devastating. We do not have stores of the vaccination large enough to treat a huge part of the populace that might be affected. Though I mentioned weaponizing this disease it could just be brought in and released into a ventilation shaft of a large office building, or even worse a school. Children tend to be less sanitary than adults and the disease would spread much quicker. Place this school in a city like LA or NYC and you have a recipe for sheer disaster.
In any city that is a transportation hub it would be unlikely that the disease would be seen prior to international travel. This disease could then spread to Europe, Asia and Africa very quickly. The death tolls could skyrocket depending upon how quickly the disease was noticed.
Any terrorist group claiming responsibility for this would then cause psychological concerns in the populace that if they can do this what else can they do?
3rd the suicide mission scenario
The third situation that I find most likely is based similarly off the Mumbai Massacre. The groups of individuals would be more numerous though and would strike in multiple parts of a city forcing first responders to spread themselves thin. This is the ideal part.
Prior though to any first responders even receiving notice of the attack the individuals would engage a jamming device. The device would block signal ranges for Cell Phone, GPS, International lines, blue tooth, wifi, and both 3G and 4G. These devices are readily available in many foreign countries. Though they would have to be smuggled in, it is obvious that this is not a hard thing to do as many Americans own these despite that they are illegal to make, purchase or sell with the United States.
With these devices turned on it will be a while before first responders can react since they probably will not know what is going on. More than likely part of the group will sever telecommunications lines or provide a Denial of Service attack on the main telecom companies in the area. Though, the latter is less likely.
This act would again be psychologically devastating leaving the populace wondering how they are being protected.
These situations are why civilians should be trained what to look for to help spot potential terrorists. It is evident that we were lucky this past weekend. Law enforcement did not find the bomb, a regular Joe did but only because the terrorist was sloppy. Luck is not something I would want to rely on in life especially given how many times I have won the lottery. Be vigilant! Put yourself in the mind of a terrorist and think what would they do and how can you help prevent it from happening. Knowing your enemy is the key to defeating you enemy.

The Future is Bright!

I deal a lot in the Bio-Electrical area of engineering. My field of focus is mainly in integration of the synthetic with the biologic. I am absolutely amazed with all the progress the fields for medicine have been making lately and this one at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory is probably going to revolutionize the medical industry from Rehabilitative therapy to drug delivery systems. Scientists are using carbon nano tubes that could be used to transmit electricity through the body. The size will possibly allow them to match a real neuron's amount of bundles with enough fibers. This could allow for us to collaborate on devices to "jump the gap" on paraplegics and quadriplegics and allow them the ability to move their limbs again. Among other things it could be used for better prosthetic integration. This would be exceptionally useful for returning combat vets as it allow us to return full functionality to our country's finest and bravest. (Read the Story)

UN a Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

This really is a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot moment. Iran was elected to the UN's Commission on Women's Rights. (Read the story) The question I have is why? When there is SO MUCH EVIDENCE that they abuse women! This is why I often say when speaking of the UN that it is a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Though Obi-one thinks Mos Eisley is, it has nothing on the UN.

FTC to Control Vitamins?

What does the Wall Street Reform bill have in common with Vitamins? And why would Government control over vitamins go to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)? More Big Government, Democrat Leaders can't get themselves enough Statism.
